Close to Prague Tranquility amidst forests, meadows and timeless villages... Less than half an hour from Prague you can ride amidst the peaceful forest of Bohemia Centralis. Bicycle the winding roads up to the bluffs that overlook the Berounka River. Ride on old paths where centuries before the noblemen of the Přemysl dynasty worshiped in the largest limestone caves in Bohemia and erected great castles. The mystery of these legends is uncovered as we wend our way into the valley and up to Karlštejn Castle. Depart from the center of Prague (call for time and location). Transfer by train to Beroun, where the ride will begin. Travel on back roads and well marked river trails to St. John under the rock. Continue by road, or through the forest to Karlštejn, site of one of the most well known castles in Bohemia. The distance covered will be between 25-35 km, and can be altered according to participants ability. Some terrain is hilly, and may be challenging for novice riders. A tour of castle Karlštejn (optional) is also possible before returning to Prague. The largest system of Bohemian caves, extending three stories below ground. There is a 2 km route which is open to the public, for viewing stalagmites and stalactites. Well known as the site where Ludmilla ( mother of Saint Vaclav) was murdered.
