Southern Moravian Chateaus & Wine Cellars
By request (2 days/1 night) Aug. - Oct. - 4950 Kč Per Person
Come enjoy the playground of the gods

The white rocks of the hills in the Pálava are inviting us to come closer. We can feel the warmth of the gentle hillsides where the ripening grapes are changing colors. Here, in the shadows of monuments to an age long gone, you can sip the nectar of the gods as you listen to the sound of lutes and strings.

Program
Departing from Prague early on Sat. morning, (call for time and location) and transfer via Brno to Valtice, Mikulov or Pavlov. The distance covered each day will be about 30-40 km. The terrain is suitable for adult riders fit enough for this distance on rolling hills. Mostly, we will keep to back roads, and on the Lednice grounds, we will be treated to several well maintained trails. Of many interesting places to visit in the Pálava Natural Protected Zone and the Valtice – Lednice grounds, we choose the following for their historic significance and charm:

  • Accommodation

  • Stay in Valtice, Mikulov, or Pavlov in characteristic cottages built above ancient wine cellars, or historic Town Houses. In addition to Valtice & Lednice, the towns of Mikulov, Hodonin, and Breclav also hold some gems for those who wish to explore the whole territory. There are a variety of restaurants here for each group choose between. Along with an abundance of wine, the comfort and atmosphere in our selected lodging is as tasteful as the food.

  • Valtice - Lednice Grounds

  • Once upon a time this whole area belonged to the noble family of Lichtenstein. These people were truly fascinated by the arts of the ancient world. Thus, the many replicas of Greek and Roman temples and monuments. Sadly, the monuments are now in a state of disrepair, but the park itself is spread out, and encompasses a large wooded area (perfect for cycling). It is no wonder that this is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and gradually being rediscovered and resurrected with regularly scheduled festivals and events.

  • Pavlov & Bila

  • In the heart of the wine growing region there are two villages that stand out. First Pavlov, which is perched on a hillside overlooking a great man made lake, beneath the ruins of an old castle far above it. The second is Bila, well hidden off the main road. Both are as picturesque as Moravian villages can be, with the characteristic painted doorways leading into the cellars. We will bring you here to taste wines that cannot be found anywhere else.
