Local Contacts - $45
Provided with enough initial data (family names, known places of residence, and an approximate date of birth, marriage, death or emigration), we will use this to look for living relatives by contacting local offices and historians. The success of these contacts relies, to a great extent, on the quality and quantity of the data provided.

In the absence of sufficient data, it may be necessary to first conduct Basic Genealogical Research. This should insure, at the very least, a visit to the correct place of origin. Since each request typically warrants several calls and letters so that we can be certain of the result, this fee is therefore limited to one family group, town or village. Please note: In each case, we will assess whatever data is provided and submit a proposal on how we might help to facilitate your wishes. Our proposal for services, along with an estimate of the cost for each service, is free of charge.

Local Contacts should precede any family reunions or visit to a place of origin. These contacts cannot be understated in what they can possibly add to any visit. Local Contacts should not be used, however, as a substitute for research, since local authorities are typically unable to assist without some necessary details. Thus, we recommend that Local Contacts should be made only after the place of origin (e.g. house number, family names, dates of birth, marriage or emigration, etc.) can be verified. Please note that Local Contacts are included (free of charge) when Complex Research is combined together with a Day Trip.

Further correspondence with local families or authorities, after a reunion, must be treated separately and charged depending on how much translating or additional work is required. As a rule, we try to find someone within the family or community who can help with continued correspondence.

Family Reunions & Visiting Ancestral Towns/Villages - $345/Day
For the purpose of visiting villages and meeting relatives we provide a comfortable vehicle, with an English speaking driver and interpretor. Our rate for these services is based on the number of participants, up to 3 persons or more, the round trip distance, and number of hours. The basic fee covers an 8 hour day for up to 3 passengers, and includes 300Km round trip mileage. We also have rates to serve larger groups, to travel greater distances, and to account for longer day trips, or extended travel requiring more than 1 day.

• Group of 4 to 7 persons - (up to 8 hours and 300Km round trip) $465/Day
• Group of 4 to 7 persons - (up to 12 hours and 450Km round trip) $625/Day
• Each 10Km over 450Km for 3 passenger car - $9
• Each 10Km over 450Km for 7 passenger van - $12

We offer follow up translating of any correspondence resulting from a reunion as an Additional Service. The fee for this varies according to the extent of the correspondence. Otherwise, we typically try to establish if someone within the family or community can help to translate any ongoing correspondence.

Extended Travel - $325/Day for up to 3 persons (lodging & meals not included)
This discount is intended to encourage visitors to go further with us, and to spend three or more days exploring the Austrian, Czech, Hungarian, German, Polish, or Slovak countrysides. The Extended Travel option also results in greater flexibility concerning daily travel time and distances (up to 10 hours & 340Km/day). $445/Day for up to 7 persons

This will allow you to spend more time exploring the treasures further away from Prague (i.e., Česky Krumlov, Kroměríž, Šumperk, Bamburg, Dresden, Bratislava, Krakow, Olomouc, Budapest, Saltzburg and Vienna).

We excell in finding fine lodging in small hotels, or B & B style pensions, even in the most remote regional towns . Choice of lodging, however, is always according to your specific wishes.
Tell us what you are looking for, and we will provide you with at least three options to choose from.  Since we do not rely on provisions from booking small hotels and pensions, you can be assured that our suggestions will be based on the best lodging available in a particular area, and not only those that pay a fee.

Self Guided Travel Consulting - $45 to $75 (based on time & materials required)
Travel independently in your own rental car, choose your own lodging from a recommended list, and use local guides (wherever available). We will advise you concerning any or all parts of your itinerary. Be as flexible as you like with your travel plans, and we will be as invisable ( but available ) as you wish. Such plans should be made well in advance, to insure availability of local guides and lodging.

Additional Services

The following options listed here are intended to help families to keep in touch, once they have been reunited with distant relatives, and if there is any desire to maintain these relations:

Translation of letters and/or other text materials exchanged between families (Czech to English/English to Czech). The cost of this service (between $25 to $55/page) would be based on the amount of text and the technical difficulty of the topic.

Cards, Gifts, & Flowers - To keep in touch during the holidays, or to mark other occasions (births, marriages, deaths, etc.), we offer to obtain and insure delivery of greeting cards, gift baskets, or flowers to your friends and loved ones in the Czech Republic & Slovakia. $45-$95 (according to package size, content and weight).

Photography/Videotaping of your family reunion. This offer is for those who wish to have a particular event professionally recorded. We are now equipped to film your special event, so that you can relax and enjoy your time together - $285/event (plus travel expenses from Prague @ $.25/Km)
